Our first Manor visit:
Rolling for equal groups of beans. Then creating math problems with repeated addition: 5+5+5+5=20 or 4 groups of 5! Changing one sound at a time to create a new word. What can you do with 'cat'? Small moment stories have the following requirements: Sometimes our small moment is too big (a watermelon of an idea) and we need to narrow our focus (a seed idea). What are your seed ideas? What are your watermelon topics? Our second read aloud is the next book in the'Julian' stories by Ann Cameron. Reading books in a series or by a familiar author allows us as readers to have 'schema' for the book's characters and author's style. This allows us to make great predictions and have many connections. So as we move forward in our read aloud, what will Julian and Huey be up to now? What things will dad be dealing with? And, what is a dream Doctor anyway? Can't wait to find out!!!! Lessons learned from our mazes... How have you bloomed this year? What ways have you grown? What things are you still blooming on, working towards, or trying your best to conquer? |
